Eel Skin

Our grade of eel skin, is both lightweight and supple, yet known to be 2-3 times stronger than regular leather. Eel skin is a natural by-product of the food industry and not farmed for fashion. All eels are unique, wrinkles, tiny scars,and bite marks ensure no two designs are the same.

Although eel skin is extremely durable and treated with leather protector spray at the production stage, you may wish to further treat your design with a clear leather protector spray (on that is not intend for shoes). To clean your design, please use clear leather cleaner and a soft cloth.

We often have customers commenting on the durability of the skin and how soft it becomes over time. Eel skin was popular in the early 80's and we still see pieces being used daily from that era, proving its durability. When wearing eel skin special care must be taken near alcohol, as with most dyes the alcohol can affect the colour. Treated with care, the designs last for many years and will become softer and softer with use.
