Makki has an Eco fashion Policy & the ethical way in which we work can be seen in every aspect of our business.

Our skins are a by-product of the food industry.
The eels are not farmed for the fashion industry & the skins would otherwise be discarded.

Our Calf Skin is again a by-product of the food industry & our wonderful Italian Pony Hair is actually Cow Hair. It is the pelt of the Cow cut down & dyed. The Fashion industry uses the term ‘Pony Hair’ to sound more luxurious!

Makki boasts a very close relationship with their suppliers, uses the world’s finest grade of skins & consistently pays fairly & upfront.

The skin is dyed in a barrel in a 24hr dye process ensuring the leather is dyed through & through so your chosen design will not transfer to your clothing or hands, as some cheaper skins do.
