The original Eel Skin Handbag Specialists, Makki was launched in 2003 by Joanne the founder & main designer for Makki. Now collaborating with an Italian Designer, Makki’s designs are becoming as popular overseas as they are in the UK.

Known for their originality & use of the finest class of skins, they can now be seen in Paris, Italy, Berlin, Athens, Oslo, Hong Kong, Tokyo & New York.

Makki’s designs feature their wonderful bespoke screen printed faux suede lining & discrete Leather Logo, ensuring they are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. Makki optimises Class, Luxury & Design, ensuring they offer on trend classics that inspire that heir loom quality.

Individual care is taken in house with each order, which continues through the personal contact we have with our customers. With each order you will receive information about the Eel skin & for larger pieces, a dust bag to keep your new purchase safe.

Makki can guarantee all pieces created are made with skins which are by products of the wider food industry. They have a very close relationship with their suppliers, lived for years in South Korea where we now produce & regularly visit designing our wonderful new Collections. 

Each season new lines are created to continually offer beautiful designs. Makki were awarded ‘Fashion Product of the Year’ & has been the talk of the press since launching.

"According to my mum I started designing on a fashion wheel when I was a child back in the 80's..several years on & here I am creating & running a handbag brand!
Makki started after an inspiring year of living & working in Korea. Eel Skin is a by product of the Korean food industry & after seeing it's wonderful soft & very strong qualities I decided to offer the world a luxury handbag range which is also ethical.. and put all the practice on the fashion wheel into play!
