About Us & Our Collection

Makki was born in 2004 when we launched the Taffeta Silk Collection.

Following the success of the Silk designs, Makki introduced the Eel Skin range & in 2007 the Electric Collection, made with the finest grade of Eel Skin, was created.

Initially we offered a small range of Clutch designs. Following the popularity & demand for the Eel skin, 2009 has seen the expansion of Makki, which now includes Purses, Belts, Passport holders & something for the men, the Eel Skin Wallet.

Each design has a name to suit its personality, Electric Disco, Electric To Die For & Electric Fantasy are just some of the personalities in the collection.

The striking palette of 13 colours ranges from the brights, the Hot Pink, Teal & Electric Blue to the subtler tones of Antique White, Camel & Hot Chocolate, ensuring there is a colour for every mood. Most of our collection is designed in house, in the UK by Joanne, the founder of Makki.

We are very committed to our Eco Policy & the ethical way in which we work & trade is of the utmost importance to our brand.

A combination of the sumptuous Eel Skin leather, the striking palette of colours & the on trend designs achieved Makki the accolade of Fashion Product of 2009.
